Bath Mats Supplier for Dubai and the UAE

Bath mats fail in the UAE for reasons that have nothing to do with the mat. Three local conditions change the specification, and most orders are placed without accounting for any of them.

Hard water. UAE supply is largely desalinated and runs hard. Calcium builds inside the terry loops and stiffens the mat within weeks, and the property blames the supplier. Ring spun with normal twist recovers better than zero twist, and keeping the weight at 1,000 GSM or below lets the pile open up again in the wash. A softener protocol in the laundry does more than any construction choice, and it is worth raising with the housekeeping team before the order rather than after.

Coastal humidity. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah run high humidity for much of the year. A 1,200 GSM mat will not dry overnight in a hotel laundry cycle, and a mat stacked warm and slightly damp turns sour in days. Stay at 900 to 1,000 GSM. Heavier is not better here, it is the problem.

Marble and polished porcelain. Most UAE hotel and villa bathrooms are finished in polished stone, which is slipperier underfoot than ceramic tile. A heavier mat stays put better under weight, which is one argument for 1,000 over 900. It is not an argument for rubber backing — that delaminates under hot sanitising washes, usually within 40 to 60 cycles, and sheds into the dryer. Rubber backing is a residential product. For hotels we quote heavy unbacked terry.

Sizes: 50 x 80 cm standard, 60 x 90 cm for suites, villas and spa. Expect 5 to 7 percent shrinkage over the first three industrial washes, so if a finished size matters, tell us the after wash dimension and we will cut for it.
